3 Days in Acadia - Hiker's Paradise

I am so excited to go to Acadia National Park!!!! It has just become fall, here in Maine. The leaves are stunning, and the pines are standing proud and tall. There are many wild animals, and I love seeing the tall, rounded mountains in the distance! Forests of maple trees surround us,and the cute little houses inside are so…cute! They have wood roofs, and log walls! Wow! We also see an enormous American flag. In the distance, very far away, is a large mountain. Probably Cadillac mountain. Did you know that the first sun rays touch this mountain before any other place in US? So cool!

Trail I found
We hiked the  Lighthouse trail. My family had planned to walk a boring trail, and when we were going to approach the steps, I spotted an opening. It was small, and mossy, but my curiosity got the best of me. I walked in. It was lovely, with neon green shrubs, and long grass that tickled my ankles as I walked past them. Mom, Dad, and my brother followed. We examined the memorials of fallen trees, and cute, colorful plants. But what came next made my jaw hit the ground.
It was a slope. A rocky, rough, and walk-able slope. I nearly shrieked with excitement and signaled for my Mom to come look.
Though my mother had her doubts, my dad supported my point of hiking the slope, and the jagged rocks that lay ahead. Mom was mortified when we went down. She freaked out when Dad helped her down too. It was all for the better though, because after a few minutes of hiking, she started understanding the point of this dangerous hike. She started acting like a real hiker too… One that was way too worried about her children!
Lighthouse in the backdrop was not the highlight
We found amazing things, like purple flowers shoved under orange rocks, and colorful, leafy, shell filled reefs. We sat on ledges and gazed at the soft waves that raced across the mossy rocks, then retreated back to the blue green sea. We took millions of pictures… Me and my brother were so annoyed! Even still, we did a hobby of ours, hiking, and we saw awesome sights! It was an amazing hike, and I recommend any daring, adventurous family to go to Maine, at the Bass Harbor Light house!

Jordan Pond is a spectacular sight! A large lagoon looking pond, surrounded by lush, green mountains was our amazing destination in Maine. The waters were crystal clear, and the trail was splendid! I was awed at seeing the lovely, natural, and exotic sight! My brother and I went alone to the edge of the pond, and climbed atop the rocks. Little grey fish darted back and forth. Jordan's Pond trail is also surrounded by  large woods.
View from the Jordan House
The restaurant near the pond, Jordan's Pond House, is amazing, with excellent popovers! Their seafood is beyond awesome, and our family enjoyed it very much. The serving quality was amazing, and we got a great view of Jordan's Pond as we ate! It was fancy indeed! I would love for many people to go and explore the restaurant.

Another spectacular hike, at Bubble Rock! Acadia National Park . It is a great hike, and there are many new paths to take. My family went to the North Bubble. There is a South Bubble, and a Bubble Rock. The North Bubble is a nature filled hike, with a great view of Jordan's Pond. Along the way, you can see small, large,  humongous rocks, the shape of bubbles! It is a long hike, so I would recommend you go in the morning,so you can see the rough, bumpy trail.
At the North Bubble Summit
My family went a bit late, after Jordan's Pond and the Light House trail. Still, there seemed to be enough light, so we began the hike. It was marvelous, little green shrubs, and large climbing rocks. It was amazing, and my brother and I raced off to explore the trail. It was tiring though, and soon, my brother and I were huffing and puffing. Take your time with the trail. Anyway, we got many opportunities to see the pond, and we took them all. My Mom was especially excited, and to keep the beautiful memories, she took many pictures. I couldn't blame her. I would've too! The view was irresistible!
Surprisingly, going up was easier than going down, for us. The hiking trail was downhill, so you had to detain yourself from running down the slippery rocks. It was so dark by then, we could barely see the trail ahead of us. We then realized what a bad idea it was to leave so late. Even worse, I had the sniffles, and my knees ached more than ever. So when I spotted our car in the parking lot, I was dancing with joy. It was a tiring, lovely, and dangerous hike that I loved!

Schoodic Point is an awesome rock hike! The waves, white with foam, crashed on to the dark, black rocks. They leaped in the air,  then dropped back into the Atlantic Ocean. Dad, My brother, and I would stand by the cliffs, waiting for the sprinkle of sea water to splash us! There were huge walls of brown rock. My daring Dad and Brother would use every chance to climb them. My Mom and I  preferred to stay below, with no chance of getting hurt. Near some slippery black rocks, beautiful waves crashed the shore. Excited to take a closer look, Mom ran to the edge. She was almost there, when she stumbled on a wet, large, rocky platform. Mom fell with a loud THUD.
The Quaint and Unexplored Schoodic Point
She yelped, and we all ran to help Mom up. Dad lifted her up to her feet. Mom decided to go to the car to get her pain killer medicine. She told us to have fun and keep on hiking, but none of us wanted to. We wanted to help Mom, and we stayed to take care of her. Dad told Mom to be strong, and we would keep on hiking. And so we did. Though Mom didn't do much, she was smiling as she took pictures of the amazing view. It was great!
Brother and I explored the nearby woods. It was a good spot to see the ocean, and the rocks. But unfortunately, you would get scratched by some twig or the other, and the only other thing there was a bad bathroom. The woods weren't even pretty. There were only dead trees everywhere. Besides that, there was a very good trail that my family eventually took. My brother was jumping on the side stones of the trail. After a while, he picked up speed, and fell. He wasn't hurt, we still put medicine on his foot too. Though we fell a lot, it was a beautiful, and cool adventure for my family!

Only If I could add the boom
We went to Thunder Hole, in Acadia National Park. It was so amazing! Large, roaring waves rushed in a crack. It was deep, and the light blue water stood out against the black rock of the crack. Up ahead, a few yards away, there was a small cave. I watched in awe as the water exploded in the cave. It sprinkled us, just a bit. There were other rocks you could climb on, so we went there, my Mom staying behind to take pictures. Many people had tried to go to an island, which was in the water. There was a confusing, dangerous trail to get there. Fortunately for us, we had found an easier trail, through the back. Woo hoo! When we finally arrived at the top of the mini island, I looked around. The ocean water was like an infinity pool, with literally no end. The skies were a cloudless blue, and Mom took a picture of us dangling our feet on the cliff. It was a wonderful, easy, and fun adventure!

Sunset never got better than this
The very same day, we went to Cadillac Mountain, a little bit before the sunset. The hike would've taken a long time, much after dark. So we drove on the road, to the peak of the mountain. As we climbed higher, and higher, the town looked smaller, the ocean became longer and bluish, and rocky cliffs came out of view because of the thousand of trees. Though the sky was still bluish, the sun seemed lower than it had been when we started up the mountain. When we parked at the top, we settled with other people on the mountain. As the sun began to set, my brother and I made a rock stack…inspired by the other ones! The sun turned yellow, then orange, and my Dad called us for the countdown. We counted down from 5 as the sun came out of view. We counted all the way to -20 before we could see the sun no longer. It was so… Interesting!!! It was one of the best views ever!

The Rungs were such a blessing
500 Feet Drop - eek!!
Next day , after a scrumptious breakfast, went to Beehive Trail. Let  me tell you one thing… It is literally life risking! There was a warning sign that pink flags are places of death. There were lots of pink flags.Though it is fun and all, it was dangerous and scary. My mom was so freaking out! At first, it was just green rocks, and pine trees. Then, it became rock climbing. Mom was a little scared, but Dad took good care of us all. And finally, it became screaming and crying, and cliffs of jagged rocks. Though the view was nice, there was nothing to be smiling about. Small slippery rungs helped us climb vertical walls, and thin rocks were our grip. The Beehive Trail  was the scariest hike my family has ever done…we were not prepared! We didn't even have enough water! We were all scared and wanted to go back, but it would be too dangerous, so we kept on climbing the rough terrain.
Relieved to be at the Mountain Top
When we made it to the top, we took a long leg break, which were exhausted from the hiking. On the way down, my Mom was almost dancing with joy at the fact of an easy trail. We were walking with ease, when we got lost. Many people were trailing behind us, and we were looking for the next blue mark that would indicate the right trail. While the others were glancing carelessly everywhere,I scanned the area carefully. Suddenly, I saw it and called my family to come. They congratulated me for finding the trail, and called me a true hiker. It was the greatest adventure of my life!

Great Head Trail is an amazing, simple trail with long hikes and many fun rocks to climb on. To get there though, we had to cross the Sand Beach, the sun’s reflection glistening on the aqua water. The waves crashed on the shore, and flowed back from where it came. On the wet part of the sand, away from the waves, my Brother and I wrote our names with rocks. We planned to see if our names were still there when we came back. The trail itself was splendid, rocky, but smooth paths, and awesome views of the beach. The apricot colored sand, everlasting blue sea, and all. You could jump over rocks, and the trail got a bit bumpier than when we started. I stumbled a few times, but I never injured myself. On the way, we found a large cave, with sharp rocks being our ceiling. There were some dead fish in the pond, which I obviously avoided. We sat on some large rocks, as Mom took our picture. On the way up, my Brother found some strange tooth, that probably belonged to a prehistoric animal. So amazing! We also found  some steep, natural steps, that led us to a  land of sea. It was probably underwater before we came, because seaweed, and clams blanketed the ground. My brother crushed an alive shell. Yikes! I found some small waterfalls, that flowed towards the ocean. The way to get to the destination, a huge view, was to climb up. On a trail, obviously, but we were all tired before we got close to getting up.
Beach View from Great Head Trail
We pushed on, knowing the view would be worth it when we made it to the top. Indeed it was, the water crashing on to the sand, and then washing away. The people down below, creating footprints in the sand. We lay against the rocks, letting the sun rays staining our faces. The way down was simple, because we knew exactly what to expect. When we arrived at the beach, all of us searched for our names. But the tide had risen, and our names were washed away. It wasn't bad, though, because, again, we wrote our names. Yay! It was splendid!

I loved Otters Cliff! Though there were no otters, I loved the journey to get there! We parked by a beach, with huge egg like rocks, the size of a T-Rex egg. We climbed them, up, down, up until we reached a humongous platform, on top of a cliff like rock. To my surprise, it was not Otters Cliff. It was the way to get to Otters Cliff! Still, it was fun to hike up those large rocks and the rock
Hiking over the rocks to Otter's Cliff
platform.
My brother found something on the platform that seemed like a throne. My Brother sat on it while Mom took pictures. It was awesome. That is, until we found a dead end. I was baffled, and my brother set off to search for the correct trail. My parents came, and were dismayed when my Brother told them there was no trail in the woods. I went in the forest, and, past the large fallen logs, was a paved path. Halfheartedly, we crawled under prickly branches and thick pines to arrive at a trail. We were extremely happy when we saw the Otters Cliff. People were climbing on a large wall like cliff, with climbing gear smothering them. Though we couldn't go, Mom wouldn't have let us any way, with such a dangerous place to climb. I couldn't blame her. On the way back,  we went on the real trail, not willing to stick our heads in those thorns again! It was overall, an amazing adventure!

Afterwards, we went to Thunder Hole again to see something that has never happened before… A super moon, blue moon, lunar eclipse, and caused by that, a blood moon, all at once. It was a remarkable sight! I was awed at this, and the stars in the sky were just perfect. You could see the Milky Way beyond the stars, and it looked like an unreal painting. Whoa! I thought it was a perfect, awesome way to end a trip. For more information, this combination has happened for the first time in 30 years, but there was no blue moon. So, for the first time in 30 years, there was a blue moon in the combo. This will happen again in 15 years. It was a 45 year span, first time thing. Woo Hoo!
